The montrain list was created to provide an easy forum for those wishing to
share information and discuss the unfolding saga of the refurbishment of the
Montreal-Deux Montagnes commuter rail line.
With the refurbishing completed and the line running smoothly the discussion
on the list has expanded somewhat as often points about the Deux-Montagnes
train line reminded subscribers of other Montreal Transit issues.
With that in mind let me offer a few guidelines about what this list covers.
Urban transit in Montreal, means busses, trains, streetcars, commuter
trains, highway planning etc. and those things directly related to
them.
Since we are all railfans here, the odd incursion into intercity rail
traffic is fine, but make sure one end of the line is in Montreal.
Many topics have urban transit aspects or influence to them which is
fine, if you go off on a tangent make sure we know where the relation-
ship is. If it isn't related, but you feel you must put it to the
list, keep it short, explain why you are putting it to the list and
ask that followup be made by e-mail.
Since we are all freinds, there isn't any need for flames so try to keep things
polite and clean. Any messages containing offensive, profane or obscene
language will simply be deleted without further comment - regardless of the
context.
Oh yes, it helps us all if you sign your messages. E-mail addresses can
be pretty cryptic and its helpful to know who you are. Not everybody
reading the list knows who all of the subscribers are.
